Ever since I moved to Barcelona in September my days have consisted of trying out new coffee shops, cafes, and restaurants around the city. Before moving here I had no idea how much of a foodie city Barcelona is! It’s insane the amount of cool coffee shops, brunch spots, and aesthetic tapas bars this city truly has. I am constantly sharing them on my IG stories, so be sure to follow! You should see my Google Maps, I have SO many places saved on there that it looks like a minefield. Whether traveling or at home, one of my favorite things to do is discovering cool coffee shops. Here is a list of my favorite third-wave coffee shops in Barcelona. This list will be continuously updated as I continue to explore the city, so be sure to Pin it for future reference 😉
This is by far the best coffee I have found in Barcelona! Onna has the best almond milk latte, I can even dare say it’s similar to Melbourne coffee (aka the best coffee I have tried IN THE WORLD!). The space is cute and cozy and they have fast wifi. Major plus! Try it out when in Gracia.
Neighborhood: Gothic Quarter
Strong, smooth, and delicious flat whites. It’s tucked away in the center of Gótico, between La Rambla and the cathedral, making it a convenient coffee stop between sightseeing. The vibe of this coffee shop is really cool, but different from your typical chill spots. Expect more of a punk vibe here. Cons: no wifi 👎🏼 no almond milk
Neighborhood: Gothic quarter
This place is located in the heart of touristy gothic quarter. It has great coffee, gelato, and brunch. The decor is airy, rustic, and cozy making you want to stay a while. They also have oat and soy milk as vegan alternatives and fast WiFi! If you need a big pick-me-up you can get the “big flat white” which is the equivalent of most regular coffee sizes in the US. Farggi is a chain, so you can find other locations around Barcelona, but the one in Gotico is my fav. Plus, it doesn’t have the “chain” feel 🙂
This place is located on the border of Raval and Poble Sec aka a really cool area! Federal Cafe is a popular brunch spot on the weekends, but I mostly frequent it on weekdays to enjoy a coffee and wifi. The space is very cozy, coffee is good, and they have almond milk!
Spacious, beautifully decorated, and with a delicious menu. They offer amazing teas, coffee, vegetable milks, matcha lattes, brunch food, and free wifi! It’s a place frequented by millennials on their laptops. One of my favorite coffee shops in Barcelona to get some work done 🙂
Neighborhood: Les Corts
This cafe is definitely a hidden gem! I came here after my friend Viki (@chiliconfashion) recommended it to me and I’m so glad I did! It immediately became one of my fav cafes in Barcelona. It’s located in the super cute residential area of Les Corts. This cafe has it all – Great coffee, vegetable milks, vegan food items like energy bowls and sandwiches, a matcha bar (!!!!), Fast Wifi, friendly service and a cool ambience. Must try!
One of the most relaxing and cozy places I’ve been to in Barcelona! I came here with a group of Barcelona bloggers and we all loved the experience. This space is half Cafe, half massage parlor (aka coolest concept ever!). They offer some food, treats, coffee, but my favorite part is the tea bar!! They have a huge variety of teas that you can smell before ordering. I tried the Aloe Vera green tea during my detox week and it was the best I’ve tried. Wish I could take their whole tea selection home with me! They have plenty of seating and WiFi for you to stay a while. Although everyone else I was with was able to connect and had fast WiFi, it didn’t work for me (on my MacBook nor my iPhone 😞). Still an amazing place to chill!
Cute underrated coffee shop and donut bar located in the hip neighborhood of Raval. I stumbled upon this place right after leaving Mailuna and had to stay a few more hours to try it out! They have a variety of coffee drinks, vegetable milks, delicious-looking donuts, cute decor, and fast WiFi!
What are some things you look for when choosing your favorite coffee shops? For me it’s good coffee or tea, vegetable milks, inviting environment, and wifi is a plus! Tell me your requirements in the comments below! 🙂
